Programs for children and youth run Sunday evenings, starting at 5:00 pm for younger children, 6:00 pm for Grade 6 and up. See our Youth Ministry and Children's Ministry pages.

Apr. 2 - Plan your route to church around the Rock and Roll Marathon, which starts on Fayetteville St. at 7:00 am. Both Avent Ferry and Western Boulevard will be one-way, westbound during the race. Your only route to the church before 9:00 am will be from the south, via Wilmington St. A church pass will let you pass through the barricades that prevent access to our parking lot from Morgan St. Pick up a pass at the desk in the Edge lobby.

We recommend parking in the Alexander Square deck on Wilmington St. if you're willing to pay for a short walk to the church. However, the Green Square Parking Deck on Edenton St. offers free parking for a longer walk.

In summary, the recommended route to the church is this: from I-440, go north on South Dawson Street (Highway 70); turn right on Martin Luther King Blvd.; turn left on Wilmington St. and look for a parking deck. Or to park in the church parking lot, turn left on Edenton St.; turn left on Salisbury St.; turn right on Morgan St. and show your church pass to the police officer to get to the church parking lot. Please try to reserve spaces in our lot for seniors and for those with mobility issues.

Sat., Apr. 8 - Presbyterian Women's Spring Gathering at First Presbyterian of New Bern. Reception at 9:30 a.m.; program runs 10:00 - noon with a box lunch afterward. Registration forms are available in the Edge Lobby.

Fri., Apr. 26 - Deadline to submit nominations for church officers. Click here to download the nomination form.

Ways to Help Eastern NC with Flood Recovery:

  • Help us replenish stocks at the Food Bank. We collect non-perishable food and other consumable items, such as diapers and paper towels, and deliver them to the food bank each month. Collection bins are conveniently placed in multiple locations in our buildings. Or follow the link posted above to donate money to the Food Bank.
  • Donate to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Write a check to First Presbyterian Church and add "Presbyterian Disaster Assistance" in the Notes section. We will send all funds collected this way to the Presbytery.

PWCT Meetings - First Monday at 9:45 a.m. at the church:  October, November, December, February, March, April and May.
